• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in newbuilding management.
• Job summary: NMDC is requested to build a new research vessel fitted for our requirements and UAE marine environment. The research vessel shall be developed by NMDC in coordination with an external party and with final approval of the specifications by the client. In order to comply with the above requirement, the assistance of a Naval Architect is required.
• Company: National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC)
• Location: Abou Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
• Requirements:
1. Based on the basic data and requirements agreed to deliver a basic concept design.
2. To retrieve approval from the client of the concept design
3. Writing of the newbuilding specifications inclusive the Maker’s list
4. To obtain client approval of the newbuilding specifications
5. To assess and to select prequalified shipbuilders, to be approved by the client
6. To issue approved newbuilding specifications to at least three pre-qualified ship builders
7. To evaluate the received bids
8. To optimize the concept design after discussion of the price evaluations and the proposals
9. In concert with the client, to select the newbuilding yard.
10. To prepare the newbuilding contract, with assistance of legal and finance department
11. To follow-up the basic engineering phase, the rules and regulations compliance, to approve drawings, to revise calculations, to assess and approve subcontractors, to evaluate supply agreements, to select equipment
12. As Owner’s representative, to follow-up on daily basis the newbuildlng activities, inclusive the daily acceptance tests onboard of all systems and constructions, the factory acceptance tests of equipment, the Classifications’ and Authorities’ approvals, with continuous reporting and updating to Client, the organizing of regular meetings with shipyard and Client.
13. To supervise the compliance with the agreed progress and delivery schedule
14. To organize events for the vessel’s
-Steel cutting
– Keel laying
– Launching
– Delivery
15. To follow-up the budget and the payment schedule
16. To commission the newbuilding, setting-up a testing schedule in concert with the yard, to follow the inclining test, the harbor acceptance test, the sea trials
17. To issue the rest point’s list at delivery and take-over of the vessel
18. To follow-up the correct closing-out of the outstanding remarks by the shipyard
19. To coordinate the training of the operational crew
20. To prepare the spare part management plan. To follow up the ordering of spare parts, the delivery and the storage onboard.
21. To follow-up the implementation of a Class approved Plant Maintenance Management System
22. To secure a complete set of documentation, drawings, schematics, manuals and as-built drawings, for the vessel and for the Owner’s head office
23. To issue the ship’s operational manual
24. To follow-up the vessel during the warranty period, and to supervise a correct closing out of the eventual warranty claims.• Link: https://bit.ly/33mI3Sp
